Family Design Day Programs @ BSA SPACE encourage children and adults to observe, explore and design together. In these 2 hour, hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design of Boston and the world through exhibit tours, neighborhood walking tours or slide shows, and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and Designers lead these programs.
Saturdays 10:30 – 12:30 @ BSA SPACE, 290 Congress St., Boston
Fall Family Design Day Schedule:
- September 20: Wood Work! We will tour the exhibit “Urban Timber: From seed to city” then go create our own structures using a wood ‘kit of parts’.
- October 18: Canstruction! with LEGO. See how local Architects and Engineers have rendered their favorite pop culture icons into colossal structures from canned food in the exhibition Canstruction, then design your own creation using LEGO bricks.
- November 8: Boston Bridges. Learn about the many bridges that span out city’s waterways, then design your own bridge for our Fort Point neighborhood.
- December 13: Gingerbread Houses. We will tour gingerbread creations of area architecture and design firms, then create our own houses from edible materials.
